Re: ** WSOP ME, $10,000 NLHE, Day 1B , Saturday, July 7 **
Details Regarding the Singer Investigation
(Information provided by Chris Hanel of ExpertInsight.net) Steve Frezer, one of the lead floor supervisors here at the WSOP, confirmed the results of the investigation into David Singer's elimination from the tournament. Surveillance cameras confirmed that, A. the player in question did not look at his phone, and B. his only action was to silence the phone's ringer and quickly put it back in his pocket. The tournament staff then took the investigation one step further, and temporarily confiscated the man's phone to test whether or not it was possible for him to receive a text message, by the way in which he handled his phone. The additional test concluded that the man would've had to have pressed three buttons in order to receive a text message. Based on the results of the investigation, the tournament staff is standing by their ruling. Singer, who has since left the premises, is still planning to consult the Nevada Gaming Commission regarding the ruling. |

The cell phone ruling is the strictest enforced rule at Harrahs. It's funny that the floor completely botched the ruling, but it's standard with Jack and Harrahs running the event.

So tournament rules are irrelevant then? [/ QUOTE ] There is no way that what the other guy did in any way affected the hand involved. Thus, Singer is merely being a rules nit in order to help himself when his cards can't. Even if he's technically in the right, that still makes him as pathetic as the two old farts who forced the guy to move all-in near the bubble at 2006 USPC. [ QUOTE ] And the "girl who interviewed him"? Were you born yesterday? [/ QUOTE ] No, I wasn't. Why do you ask? |

Montel Williams Doubles Up Two Players Montel has made a couple of calls against big hands, with {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} against pocket aces and with A-4 against A-Q . Luckily he had both opponents well covered, but he has seen a dramatic drop in his chips and now has gone from being chip leader to being back amongst the pack. [/ QUOTE ] LOL Donkaments! |

so I stopped getting 3 bet and 4 bet when I had hands that could do one but not the other and doubled up by trapping with aces. 32K...
until I ran QQ into AA an orbit later. such a skill game. 18600 at 4/8, and level headed or not, I'm getting tired of getting set up (especially when the guy with AA, who played 2 hands all day and neither well, then got AA > KK and has 50 thousand.) edit: to be fair I did have a TT > AA in there for, like, 9K, so I'm technically freerolling the tourney. except it was another SB/BB hand with a couple of limpers that I had no chance to fold anywhere. seriously, this is getting kinda sick. |

m, "Any player on the cell phone or texting a messaging when the dealer delivers the first card from the deck will have a dead hand. No cell phones can be placed on a poker table." Based on that, it sounds like someone can look at an incoming phone call and silence it without breaking the rule. [/ QUOTE ] I agree. Leaving a phone ringing loudly at a table sounds like much more of a penilizable offense. |
