I'm glad the Rockies won last night, I'm really rooting for a Diamondbacks/Rockies/Phillies/Brewers postseason. That would be just amazing.

QFT, I really want a COL/PHI/ARI with MIL/CHC postseason. Might not appeal to some, but...

The Rockies pwn the Mets, I'm fine with them winning the division

The most likely scenario for the playoffs, IMO at this very moment in time?

Mets win their division by two games, Pads/Phillies/Rockies tie 3-ways for wildcard with Atlanta one game behind

Mets have one more against Wash, one against SLN, and 3 against FLN... they will probably go 3-2 given the way they've been playing lately.

Phillies face Smoltz and Hudson, and then a pesky Washington team at home. Predict that they will also go 3-2, taking one of the last two from Atlanta and losing one to Washington.

Diamondbacks are an interensting story at this point. They have Matt Morris tonight which isn't a great matchup for them, and they already proved last night that they can lose to the Pirates, which I wasn't sure was going to happen

I'm going to say they choke once more against the Pirates and then take one of three from Colorado, so they go 2-3

The Padres... well, from the looks of things they are going to have their hands full with the Brewers this week as they will likely still be very much in the Central race. They should win tonight, but then they go to Milwaukee and face Gallardo, Sheets, Bush, Suppan, while the Brewers will be dodging Peavy and facing Young who is struggling and the rest of the struggling rotation. Pads go 2-3.

Which leads to the Rockies, who are just going insane. I cannot, with all of our history, believe that there is any way we are going to a) Take 7 straight from the Dodgers b) Take 6 straight ON THE ROAD against the Padres and Dodgers anc c) Win 11 in a row

I mean, they have taken the improbable and thrown it in the back seat in this amazing ride down the stretch here, but I've got to believe that they go 3-2 with a loss in Los Angeles and one loss at home to the D-Backs

The Brewers as I mentioned have a favorable 4 game series at home, and will go 3-1 there, and will probably beat the hapless Cards tonight, so they go 4-1

The Cubbies SHOULD win these next two games against the Marlins, but I haven't followed the Cubbies enough this year and I have no idea how they're going to respond to the pressure this week. 5 games on the road, with pressure, I guess I'll say 3-2 winning with Hill/Zambrano and finding a way to win one more

SO

Here are my predicted final standings:

NL East:

New York 90-72
Philadelphia 88-74

NL Central:

Chicago 86-76
Milwaukee: 85-77

NL West:

D-Backs 90-72
Colorado 88-74
San Diego 88-74

And then we have craziness in the wildcard where two one-game playoffs will occur

That's my prediction (logically)

the Rockies will lose one more game this year, win the wildcard and finish 0.5 to 1.5 games behind the D-Backs for the division

knock on wood

Sounds great, except I'm curious how they are going to finish a half game behind anyone

You keep saying the Rockies can't win 7 in arow against the Dodgers or the Rockies can't win 11 in a row.

Well at this point we've already won 5 and 9 respectively, so we only have to win 2 more for that to happen. Think of it as, can the Rockies beat the Dodgers in 2 consecutive games? Not guaranteed, but I like their chances.

I bought playoff tix last night, hope I didn't jinx anything.
