I'm not knowledgeable about the other 4 teams you listed to comment, but

[ QUOTE ]
In fact, what Simmons forgets is that the 2007 Colts is nearly as dominant as the 2007 Pats.

[/ QUOTE ]

isn't even close to being true.

[/ QUOTE ]

DVOA
NE 62.8
Indy 53.0

Indy is #1 in estimated wins as well

[/ QUOTE ]

That's all true, but the Pats have blown out every team, regardless of opponent. The Colts have 2 wins by less than a TD. Saying they are nearly as dominant is silly.

Sun 9/9 at NY Jets W 38-14
Sun 9/16 San Diego W 38-14
Sun 9/23 Buffalo W 38-7
Mon 10/1 at Cincinnati W 34-13
Sun 10/7 Cleveland W 34-17
Sun 10/14 at Dallas W 48-27
Sun 10/21 at Miami 1:00 pm

How do you suppose the Colts would've done against those teams?

Scored around the same, given up more. Indy's schedule hasn't exactly been real brutal. The Bucs win was a very good win. But the Saints and Broncos have played horribly, and I'm pretty sure the Texans were without their offensive stars for the Indy game, so I'm not real impressed with that win.

Saying they're not even close to being as dominant is probably homeristic of me, though. I'll concede that.

and for the record, I think the "running up the score" thing is a lot overrated. the TD in Dallas this week was a bit much, but it's not like that's happened every week. there are maybe 1 or 2 teams that could potentially have a beef.

Didn't mean to imply that it did, Pats fans were just the ones under review. Although, and maybe this is stereotypical of me as I come from the Midwest, but in my travels to the east coast (NYC, Bos) the people are certainly different then in Indy, so I'm not willing to say all fans are alike just yet.

I for one am shocked RedBean didn't respond to this

but everyone knows about the "flaxseed oil" Barry Bonds used. Bonds gets more scrutiny because he's a much better player

For the most part, yes, I admitted my choice of wording was biased. It's not even that I think it's Pats and then everyone else. I just think it's Pats, a gap, the Colts, a gap, the Steelers/Cowboys, a smaller gap, and everyone else

As a bettor that actually thinks he's beating the NFL this year because I've rode these 6 wins for my only bets, I say run it up.
