I actually was looking into laptops in this price range last night for my stepdad.

You're going to be sorely disappointed in the monitor size and you won't get a video card but you can get a decent computer for 4-tabling for around 600. If you go to dealcatchers.com you can find a Inspiron 1501 for 599 or you can get an Acer from Walmart for the same price. I'd prefer the Dell personally.

BTW suzzer - I had a friend that tried the stand-up circuit in the DC area a few years back. It's harder than it looks, he could never get a good rhythm on his jokes going. He was pretty good with verbal volleyball with hecklers, so for fun we would go heckle him just to make his show better.
