this is something i've been thinking about but i havent done it... what if i start at a 10NL table and then once i double up or so i move to 25NL and work on that? continuing til lets say 50NL and trying to make the most out of that and then starting again. wouldnt this be a fast way to make a a lot of buy ins for 10NL or a safe way to make a roll for 25NL? this would have to be worked out a little more and i'm looking for your help there. ive heard about various "challenges" starting with a small roll and constraints but ive not really heard of this. hmmmmmm. this might be what i do wen i deposit next time.

Well today has been pretty bloody bad and swingy. Seen one river too many i dislike. The two sickest beats vs the same donkey within a couple of hands, i flop a K high flush AI turn rivered fh. I flop an king high flush, he rivers a straight one. MOTHER [censored]! that is all.

ImprovinNewbie,
It is much better for you, especially in the long run, to just learn to play poker. |

I'd imagine grinding it up is less stressfull or alternatively play lotto, if you hit you are pretty well rolled for poker ! |

just played an hour session, mostly uneventful. was completely card dead for about 25 minutes though and bled off around 30 cents in blinds at 5NL(.01/.02 blinds)
terrible. before you say i should have been stealing, i was sitting at tables FULL of idiots that were calling every raise with complete crap so raising with junk was out of the question. |

[/ QUOTE ] I know this kind of challenge from the limit forums. It's kind of fun. One guy managed to start at 0.5/1 and got to somewhere like 50/100 or even higher. As soon as you have 15 BBs you move up a limit. But he got a W$SD of more than 60% so he was running freaking hot. this is certainly a fun thing to do once in a while just to see how far up you can go and then maybe stop it and be happy with the money. In NL it will mostly end with you getting busted and having nothing left. That's the difference from limit where you loose a few BBs and then just quit with a huge win compared to your starting money. So you can do it when you are bored and have a buy in to spare. But I don't think it's a good way to build a bankroll. |
