Well, obviously sometimes we should fold AK preflop.

However, much of the time we have:

a) huge showdown equity vs AQ-

b) 50/50 showdown equity vs 22-QQ

c) Opponent unlikely to have AA-KK 'cause we have an A and a K

d) huge fold equity vs 22-JJ

e) Often have pot odds to make (b) +EV

i realize that it's mostly a function of our odds after we 4bet, and you can't argue with odds.

so i guess what i'm saying is folding AK to a 3bet when it's against players we'd don't feel comfortable shoving over a 4bet

in non legal terms:

folding to a 3bet against these players, or calling. idk i might be too high for this level of thinking

Im officially quitting SNG's forever and returning to cash.
Sng's can burn in hell, burn in f'ing hell.
Hope to join in on some good discussion here.

Congratulations on taking the red pill.

However, that "100 FR" in your location is ominous. Full ring cash NL is the work of the devil. Learn to play 6 max and you'll be able to play anything.

[/ QUOTE ]

I've played FR for about 200k hands in the past, ran at 4 ptbb. I just need to win at anything for a while, sngs have driven me to the brink of insanity :P Six max seems to tilt me easily as I hate being humbled and that happens way more often. You also make uber rakeback 10-12 tabling FR.

I think without any reads it's just a really hard spot. Getting just better than 3.5-to-1 I would probably call expecting to be behind a lot but ahead enough to justify the call.

Ha ha - the other day I realized I was taking things personally wayyyy too much in these 6-max games and tilting a bit as well. Cha talked me down off the ledge and I have made it a goal to control this better.
