if i were a gambler i would say sept 1st.

hes not even 'expected' back until mid august.

however once he does comeback, its well known that the yanks will have the best pitching staff in baseball.

Only Tim McCarver and the casual fan haven't berated Joe Torre's in game management. (And enjoying the criticism of managers as much as the next guy...) Distinguish yourself by realizing that in the over all scheme of things:

in game management < filling out line up card < knowing when to turn over the spread

And be thankful that Phil Hughes prolly won't come back this year. He's had a taste of charter flights, mlb groupies, and per diem-- keep him horny for 2008 when the Yankees can re-assemble the greatest rotation in the history of baseball by picking up Mussina, Pettite & Clemens.
