[ QUOTE ]
i am really hoping yankees don't trade away all this pitching depth they are developing. edwar, hughes, kennedy, joba. together with wang, proctor, bruney, britton. i think that would be a pretty sick rotation/bullpen next year and on. [/ QUOTE ] If anything, being 11.5 back of BOS and 8.5 for the WC could help them not make any trades involving these players. craig |

hughes is back after the all-star break correct? [/ QUOTE ] if i were a gambler i would say sept 1st. hes not even 'expected' back until mid august. however once he does comeback, its well known that the yanks will have the best pitching staff in baseball. |

man and i got so much crap early in the season when i would berate torre's in game management... i'm glad everyone's finally jumped on board [/ QUOTE ] Only Tim McCarver and the casual fan haven't berated Joe Torre's in game management. (And enjoying the criticism of managers as much as the next guy...) Distinguish yourself by realizing that in the over all scheme of things: in game management < filling out line up card < knowing when to turn over the spread And be thankful that Phil Hughes prolly won't come back this year. He's had a taste of charter flights, mlb groupies, and per diem-- keep him horny for 2008 when the Yankees can re-assemble the greatest rotation in the history of baseball by picking up Mussina, Pettite & Clemens. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm a little slow sometimes getting a subtle joke. Is this sarcasm? [/ QUOTE ] It will most likely be: Wang-Pettitte-Hughes-Mussina-Igawa but it COULD be: [insert overpriced free agent here except maybe Santana]-Wang-Pettite-Hughes-Mussina Either way it's far from the "best rotation ever". |
