Re: Folded KK preflop
[ QUOTE ]
Scuba, Ummm.....errr.....huh? Shipping it in should be fine as well as calling and shipping it in on the flop (I think I prefer this one). Yugoslav [/ QUOTE ] What do you think his hand range was? I think I'm losing or tying too much here. |

Re: Folded KK preflop
Scuba,
I wouldn't fold KK to one player and 11/11/3.5 isn't that weak/tight. He could have AK or QQ. If you can correctly fold KK pre then you are playing too tight yourself in most cases. After 150 hands you should have given him some idea that you don't need to be on QQ+ here. On the J7 hand I'm potting the flop. Turn check-minraise is pretty ugly, but I'd call. I have a feeling he's going to bet small enough that I'd call the river too, but if he made a real bet on a river that didn't help I'd fold. |

Re: STTF SNG->cash thread
Voluntarily Put Money Into the Pot: the fundamental indicator of a player's preflop looseness, and one of the best gauges of a player's hand range. At uNL, you want your opponents' VPIPs to be as large as possible. The more hands they play, the worse they are, and the more money you'll make against them.
Ok I understand what it is but how do tell if they are really loose or not compared to the amount of hands they play? Give me some examples of a loose player and a tight player. Thank you. |

[/ QUOTE ] Loose: 30% + "Average": 20% - 30% Tight: < 20% That's for 6 max. They're just my perceptions, and fairly arbitrary. If it counts for anything, when table selecting at Party $100NL, I datamine for a while, and only sit at tables with an average VPIP of over 30%. |

How come the thread is so wide? |

[/ QUOTE ] VPIP is a percentage (obviously out of 100) Your tracking program will look at the x many hands that the player has played. It then counts the number of times that player has voluntarily put money into the pot - this is simply a question of frequency, not of how much. It then takes the number of times a player has put money into the pot, and divides that by the number of hands played. Eg, if a player has played 100 hands, and they have put money into the pot 25 times: 25/100 = 25% |
