hey lifers,
I want to talk about productive things to do during the day.

Are any of you in the same situation as me? I recently graduated from college and I'm currently just playing poker and doing pretty well (I have other long term business plans but let's assume poker for now).

It was cool during the summer cause all my friends were around so there was always stuff to do. Now most of them left for grad school or are busy with jobs and stuff, and I just waste my days doing stupid stuff and play poker for a few hours.

How do you guys spend the day? Any cool hobbies or anything? I'm thinking about joining a local tennis club and maybe start working out again. thoughts?

Keyser, I'm in exactly the same situation. I've just moved back in my dad after college while I save enough playing poker to get somewhere of my own. My friends too have started going back to uni and getting real jobs the past few weeks. Also, my girlfriend's been away and we've only seen each other for 5 days in the past 2 months and I won't see her for another few weeks again.

I've been working out every morning before I play but have been stuck for other stuff to do often other than go shopping.

Working out is a great idea
You can schedule it during off times for poker, and you'll never regret all the time you spent doing it.

I spent a few months taking German classes during the day.
Wish I'd spent more time studying outside of class.

It's impossible to spend lots of time on the internet and not watch lots of porn.

Productive suggestions -

- I've started reading a fair bit. Was hard to get back into at first (the ease of the internet and TV etc make reading difficult for me), but I really enjoy it now.

- I watch a movie a day pretty much during the week, sometimes more.

- Working out obv.

- Theres an indoor snowdome nearby so I've been learning to snowboard which has been amazing (except for breaking two fingers).

Thanks Jay, this is definitely something I will do. University made me stop reading any books other than those related to my course.
