Re: NLDS: Cubs vs. Diamondbacks
If both the D'Backs and Phillies lose their series there is a non-trivial chance I will kill myself. So this was a step in the right direction.

Re: NLDS: Cubs vs. Diamondbacks
BBTN. Word up to Eric Young defending the decision to let Zambrano swing away with a runner on second, even though the other idiots laughed at him.

Re: NLDS: Cubs vs. Diamondbacks
ok....general responses to this thread
The Cubs filling the park is a more recent phenomena Cubs and the neighborhood around wrigley have done an excellent PR job of selling Wrigley as a giant, outdoor beer garden. look at their year-by-year attendance For the third largest metropolitan area that has a big sports following, it isn't all that impressive. Then again, I wish Chicago would secede from the state...and take the Northern and Southern suburbs with it. The number of Cubs fans is a result of decades of the WGN superstation tv exposure and the Cubs being in one of the largest metropolitan areas with people caring about sports. oh yeah, the White Sox are a joke and an afterthought in general. |

Cubs fans in other cities suck IMO. Nothing personal, Cubs fans. But I think that prodickblower has seen it in Houston, Euro has seen it in Philly or wherever the [censored] he lives, tons of people have seen it in Atlanta, it's everywhere and is super annoying.

[/ QUOTE ] Cuz he had good seats so people assume he was important and people are afraid to kick important people out of a playoff game. That was really lame, though. When I was a kid I thought there were no d-bag adults. I thought everyone knew how to behave themselves, especially on National TV for Christ's sake. |
