i have to admit I'm def not the type that would like to be single and free in my mid 30's 40s...just seems really depressing to me.

I would never marry a woman unless I wanted to be around her 24/7 and was nuts about her.

So far I've only met one girl like that and she just got married...to someone else [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

So not sure if I'll meet many more especially given where I live. I will be really bummed if in 6 or 7 years I'm 35 and single.

Plus my problem is I go all Loyd Dobbler when I go crazy in love...so that [censored] my [censored] up to.

Well, I'm starting the 2nd half of my life and it seems like I'm actually starting over...I'd like to make a real living at what I love doing - whether that's in the TV and film business or writing books or something else, we'll see.

What's holding me back? Hmmm...lack of funding, maybe a little laziness.

How has my viewpoint changed from when I was 21: I'm more tolerant of other people's failings now. I'm also less sure that I'm always right!

Hi Dom,

I'm also about to turn 44.... and our life experiences are amazingly identical, except for the following slight differences..

1) I married my high school sweetheart, almost 23 years now, my first and only love.

2) I've only had sex with 3 women total.

3) I have 2 kids

4) I have a fair amount of $$ saved up for my retirement

5) I've never been involved with making porn, movies, or writing books. I have a nice steady career in IT.

Ok so our lives are completely opposite.. My only regret is that I haven't sexed more women.. but I wouldn't trade my wonderful wife, kids and life for all the hottest women in the world.

Good luck with your life. Sounds like you might have some difficult times ahead.. No job, no committed relationship, no money, no kids. I sure would hate to live a life where I died all alone, no family by my side. I hope you find what you're looking for.

I've been engaged twice and in love three other times. The first engagement - she dumped me. We were too young, so thank god for that.

The second engagement - she also dumped me! But it was for the bet as I wasn't really in love.

Actually, now that I think about, most of my "love" relationships ended with her dumping me! I think it's the Italian in me...once I fall, I'm there until death - no matter how bad things might get. [img]/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

Hmmmm...yes, I do feel modern American women are a tough nut to crack. A lot of them feel like they should have everything - the great career, a wonderful marriage and a few kids. Well guess what? Men never had it all...our fathers went to work and our mother's raised the kids. That was the deal. I'm not saying that's the way it should be, but a division of labor sure made one's role a lot easier to define. Heck, I'd have no problem being a house husband if my wife made a lot more money than me. My point is, because women have the children - no way around that one! - they can't expect to have that fantastic career AND have children. One is diametrically opposed to the other. Sure, some women do it, but at what expense?
