Re: Had a blood-boiling experience at Best Buy this morning...
Not true ... under the rules of many courts law students are permitted to argue in certain circumstances.
As for OP, when the next counter opens, you go up and put your stuff there. If he's there, you tell him "there is a line sir. I was next". And then, if he doesn't leave, you knee him in the balls, take your new electronics, and run. |

As the line-cutter places the items he's going to purchase on the counter simply walk up, grab his stuff, and throw it across the room. Problem solved!

I quit. BUT, I do find it hilarious that every one of you are sure you would say something about it. Pretty easy to say from behind your computer. [/ QUOTE ] lol@ thinking that saying something is a big deal. It's not like your post is about rescuing kids from a burning building. You described the guy as quite physically meek. What EXACTLY are we afraid of? Getting shot? hahaha. |

The law schools in CO (CU and DU) have clinics that let students practice...you actually get clients, argue in court, etc. It's a great program. Linky. |

[ QUOTE ] Not true ... under the rules of many courts law students are permitted to argue in certain circumstances. [/ QUOTE ] Seriously? How? In an actual case? How is it not the unauthorized practice of law? [/ QUOTE ] New Jersey Rules of Court, as amended through July 20, 2001 1:21-3. Appearance by Law Graduates and Students; Special Permission for Out-of-State Attorneys (b) Appearance by Law Students and Graduates. A third year law student at, or graduate of, a law school approved by the American Bar Association may appear before a trial court in accordance with a program approved by the Supreme Court on submission by such law school , a legal aid society, legal services project, or an agency of municipal, county or state government. A program once approved, need not be resubmitted to the Supreme Court provided that reports are filed listing the participants and the nature of their assignments, as required by the Administrative Office of the Courts. Participation in a program pursuant to this paragraph by a law graduate who has not passed the New Jersey bar examination shall terminate upon his receiving notification that he has been unsuccessful on the examination for the third time, or after two years of employment following graduation, whichever is sooner. Here's New Jersey's statute granting 3rd year law students a license to practice from the Supreme Court. Not sure why we focused on this... moving on. I guess I got what I was looking for as far as responses - 2 honest ones and 78 internet badasses. Guess I'll make sure to cause a scene next time! /thread. |
