Re: All 3 Boston teams winning the championship??
[ QUOTE ]
Can anybody guess the next closest city? If Boston is like 200-1 is there anybody else under like 1000-1? [/ QUOTE ] Well football is the one sport where anything can happen. Obviously since baseball is so far into the season, we have to at least have a team in contention there. And in NBA theres basically a .00001% chance of a team like the Pacers winning the title next year. So they'd have to have: A baseball team in contention A decent basketball team A football team That narrows it down to: Cleveland Detroit Chicago Arizona/Phoenix Colorado/Denver Los Angeles(who knows, maybe they'll get Jermaine O Neal and contend) A few of those are stretches, and I don't think I'd jump out of my seat to bet on any of them even at 1000-1. |

[ QUOTE ] I'd put the true odds at: Celtics: 22-1 Red Sox: 6.5-1 Pats: 8-1 [/ QUOTE ] I will take the Pats at 6:1 (huge bargin for you since you think they are 8:1) with anyone willing to bet 1k or more (escrow is needed obv). Come on Boston haters step up please. [/ QUOTE ] I'm not comfortable risking $6000, but I'd be willing to let you bet $200 with me(so you'd win $1200 if you won). I'm sure you could find 4 other people to also take the bet and then you'd have your $1000 bet. |

Re: All 3 Boston teams winning the championship??
[ QUOTE ]
Wow there are some serious Boston haters on this thread. Here are what the real odds should be: Pats 3:1 [/ QUOTE ] So you think that Pats have a 25% shot of winning the Super bowl? Ok, please tell me what percentage you think these teams have of winning the SB and keep in mind that every team can only add up to 100%: SD Indy Balt Pitt Cincy Chicago Philly Dallas Seattle Denver New Orleans Other(every other team combined) |

I think Chicago would be the clear 2 and I would take it at 1000-1 in a heartbeat if I got the sox and cubs for next year. With the cubs for this year it seems pretty good also. You don't think so? Actually the more I think about it the more I think Chicago isn't THAT far behind Boston. |

[ QUOTE ]
really? I'm sure you know a lot more than I do since you live there, but I always thought AI was loved in Philly. [/ QUOTE ] When he took them to the finals he was very popular. This didn't last though. A couple years ago he didn't show up for fan appreciation day, also he made those infamous "we're talking about practice" comments. Some other incidents as well. There were some people who were sad to see him go, but most just didn't care anymore. |

Re: All 3 Boston teams winning the championship??
[ QUOTE ]
I see it as something like 53% to win in the first round, 55% in the ALCS, and 58% to win the World Series. [/ QUOTE ] I used to be a bookmaker offshore and in Las Vegas, and I would've been out of a job pretty quick if I thought this Red Sox team only had a 53% chance of beating a wild-card team in a single game, let alone a five-game series with home-ice advantage. Not to whip out my e-penis or anything, but I'll lay all the -120 you want on the Sox in the first round, and all the -150 you want on any other rounds they play. I'm quite confident that when October rolls around, you won't see nearly as much Snyder, Del Carmen, Tavares, Pena, Cora, and Hinske as you've seen in the past two months while they've been resting on their huge cushion and hanging up their ~.500 numbers. Instead, it will be the relatively rested A-Team. |

You should include the revs in this too. They are in first place in the east right now.

Maybe 4 (no, not the B\'s)
Red Sox have a chance, but they'd better grt off their donkeys.
Celtics will be competitive in the East, but winning it all even with their big three will be a tall order. The Patriots are a given. 31 NFL teams are playing for 2nd place. The Bruins are just sad. If anyone cares, the Revs actually have a good chance. |
