On the flip side, Parker has trouble defending everyone.

i still want to see who boston add before i'm going to name them favorites in the east. sure, pierce, allen and kg is a great top 3, maybe the best in the nba, but they don't have a single player after those three that would be in the top 6-8 on any of the other eastern conference contenders. you can call cleveland a one man team all you want, but the celtics would kill for donyell marshall. donyell marshall!

the east is still bad, but it's getting better. new york, atlanta and charlotte are all improved, orlando added rashard lewis and washington might actually be healthy for once. i don't even think it's a lock the celtics make the playoffs unless they add at least a couple more experienced players.

A little off-topic but what does this do to KG/Allen/Pierce's fantasy value? Do you still value KG as one of the top two consensual pick in any type of leagues? (of course the other being Marion if you're any good at fantasy bball). Pierce was an annual first-rounder and Allen was late first early second. Thoughts?

my first thought is KG will be about the same, PP will be very close to the same, and Allen will drop off some for sure

I think Ray will definitely be better now that he will get some open shots. Nobody on the Sonics could draw attention away from him and now he has that. Pierce will probably drop off a bit esp in rebounds but KG will be better than ever.

simmons has a pretty good article, it's always refreshing to see a diehard fan with a crappy team react to impact news. as always, simmons is a great writer.

Not only that but it's a bad one that doesn't make much sense and he misstates the probability of hitting a flush with 2 to come. LOL.

I hope KG can pull through the Cavs/Bulls to get into the finals b/c a GARNETT LED CELTICS VS. A DUNCAN LED SPURTS TEAM WOULD BE LIKE titanic!

It would be the best finals in a decade probably.

I don't know how Mchale can make this trade, he should have clucked KG for Bynum and Odom. Now the Celtics stole one from the Lakers.
