wtf is with the race fixation?

And junior high school-level bigotry aside, does anyone actually think the majority of these listed in this thread are actually funny? Like, "omigod he said cumdumpster lol!!11 he's exactly like Lenny Bruce, LMAO!"

A big part of the humor, and i'm not going to spell out the whole thing here, is having blatantly racist screennames on the sites that pride themselves so much in trying to be wholesome. They'll censor every 'bad' and 'offensive' word and even go as far as banning chat if you say 'f**k' too many times, but you can have a name like 'Race_WAR_kill_all_the_Neegrows' and because there are no first level obscenities it will get by undetected.

In this regard, ironically enough, it actually is very Lenny Bruce-esque in that often Lenny wasn't actually funny, he was just saying things that were taboo. There are parts to the humor as well, you're just not looking at the big picture.

Hey, thank you very much for the reply. What you say makes sense to a large part, and I can appreciate it.

My only problem with what you're saying is that I don't think some/most of the people participating in the "joke" understand it.

Meaning, I am totally willing to accept that there are many people operating on the level you suggest, a level not only non-racist, but sitting above racism, laughing at it.

I totally buy that. That was Lenny Bruce.

But I think many others, maybe MOST others, that play this game are not operating on that level... they think the racism and bigotry jokes are funny not because of irony, but because of the racism and bigotry itself.

Maybe it's not interesting to most, but I see so much of this sort of self-entitled bigotry on the internet these days, especially among this demographic, that it bothers me enough to say something.

I do appreciate the background on the underlying joke, though. That makes feel better about some of it... not all, but some of it.

IIRC, the owner of this sn was on party and started a thread in bbv because he had to change it.

See, I dig it, and I was the 'bad guy' in another thread recently, where I was calling out some people for saying some ignorant things. This was the thread about 'LIL_Holdem' wearing the diamond grill in his mouth.

So believe me I know where you're coming from but i'd bet quite a bit on the fact that the great majority of 2p2 is smarter than the average bear and is operating on the level.

This is the only internet forum I post on or even visit so I can't really speak about what's going on in the rest of the innernets.

Lol I thought that too and wondered if the 'pretty distubring' was the ultimate joke or if the poster actually had that big of a momentary lapse in reason.
