Finals TV ratings are low.

Why is this? I figured Lebron would bring in the casual fan. Are average sports fans not interested in Lebron?

[/ QUOTE ]

i think thats as high as the ratings are going to go unless Lebron goes crazy and scores 50 in the next game

the ratings are going to dip even further because the first game was unwatchable...

The best part is, if the Pistons were involved in that game all their fans would be talking about the awesome defensive superpowers colliding. Instead we mostly all agree it was a terrible game.

Championship games in every sport tend to suck, though. A good finals is the exception, not the rule.

Wonder why this is. I mean the NFL this year had the same problem, AFCC was an instant classic, then the Super Bowl was Peyton Manning working up a sweat so the ring presentation looked nice.

You'd think of all sports the NBA would have a great series, the 7 game series is supposed to eliminate variance and allow the best teams though, though with the East and West so far apart, this means little.

Spurs boring? How can you call play like Parker's anything but scintillating?

They need to make the NBA physical again. I know several casual NBA fans that won't watch games without a rooting interest because of all the ticky-tack fouls that get called and all the flopping that goes on. Wouldn't old school Pistons bball get higher ratings than the game we have now?

poofler,

i dunno about you, but the first two games of the pistons-cavs series were awful to watch. the refs didn't call anything, and the result was back to back 79-76 games. pretty miserable stuff.
