im gonna go eat sushi tonight. I called the place im going to and asked if they did omakase(i pronounced it OH-ma-KA-se) and the server didnt know what i was talking about. she then gave the phone to the chef, who also didnt. i thought this was a commonly used sushi term. no?

I believed it was too. Most likely: your sushi place isn't good.

It is possible that neither was Japanese? You should have used Engrish and said something like "chef's special dish/sushi", or something along those lines.

Next time you go in, tell them to visit this site:

Soh,

We're going to need some words to describe what used to be on those plates. Otherwise you're a dishwasher pointing to your work.

I only ate the plates on the right side. Most of the plates had 2 pieces of sushis. I only weigh 130, so I did a pretty good job.
