Re: how many of you have lost 10%+ of your roll over 12 hours......
I've done it twice in ~12 hours. Some tilt was involved but mostly running bad, I think. The main thing about the tilt was that I should have quit because I was getting annoyed after dropping the first 5 or 6k each time, only to keep on digging.

Re: how many of you have lost 10%+ of your roll over 12 hours......
Pre-frist-bs a 20-30 buy-in roll was fairly standard for small stakes/mid stake NL.
Who hasn't lost more than 2-3 buy-ins in a very short amount of time? Even if you have a 50 buy-in roll, losing 5 buy-ins in a bad session is very standard. If you've never lost more than 10% of your roll in a 12 hour period you're a bankroll nit to a ridiculous degree. Personally I've lost about 1/2-2/3 of my online roll in a marathon session a few times, probably about 25-30% of my total liquid cash for the worst of them. |

[/ QUOTE ] by far my fav post in this thread [/ QUOTE ] The story isn't as grand as it sounds - I was on a $3k DS at 1/2 NL (more than half my roll), mostly super short-handed, in September 2005. I got nearly perfect perfected (Q75 board, QQ vs Q9 - running 6, 8) - and was tilted - the guy who did that moved up to NL $500 on Paradise where this guy I've never seen or heard of named durrrr was sitting. The fish (who is a pro for sure, as I later found out) left, leaving me with durrrr HU - he raised nearly every hand, so I thought he was a giant fish. He ground down my stack, then took a full stack w/ JJ vs AT - next hand we get it all in pre, I have QQ, he has AK - I win the race for little less than 1/2 my roll and for some reason continue playing for a bit. I check out with my roll at 1700. Then I saw him posting on HSNL in the next few weeks. I felt very stupid. |

its pretty easy to lose 10% of your roll even when theoretically properly bankrolled. with a 300BB roll if you lose 30bets in a game thats 10%. with a 20 buyin NL roll if you lose 2 buyins thats 10%. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I don't understand how people can NOT lose 10% of their roll in a game unless they are massively overrolled, quit every time they lose one hand, or just run hotter than the sun every time they play. I lost a little less than 20% of my monies in a game last night that I was rolled for and still have more than 500 bets for my normal game, it honestly never occurred to me that this was a big deal. I've won/lost 10%+ of my roll in games I was overrolled for more times than I can count. Since I became a winning player the only monkey tilt session I've had was like March 06 or so online in a 3/6 shorthanded poo flinging game in which I dusted off about $600 by raising almost every hand and going ape postflop, my roll was probably like 4k or so at the time. I'm sure that since then I've played less than my A game at times while losing, but I don't think there's anyone that does play well while losing, and I'm really good about playing until I can't see straight when running well/playing well and quitting when running bad/playing poorly in live games. I'm terrible about this online, but luckily for me I don't play that much online any more. |

i was looking for mega monkey tilt dust offs. [/ QUOTE ] In that case, 3 that I can remember. Probably a couple more I can't. Two -5 digit losses: one a few months ago I vaguely remember pushing at least once an orbit across 4 3/6nl tables (after losing a ton at 5/10). One recently that was a huge loss, but honestly wasn't that tilty - mostly crazy bad luck after moving up. I also remember losing 25 buy-ins or so at Party's NL100 one day early 2006 I think, getting ridiculously tilted playing like 10 tables. |
