But they're not rooms, they're suites!
The Venetian is snobby about the naming of their... guest sleeping quarters. They tell employees to call them "suites" because they advertise them all as such. I can't see them dipping the prices on suites lower than they are now until Palazzo opens (and with it a ton more rooms to fill). Maybe then there would be a shot for a reasonable poker suite price. |

Hi 52s
I do agree that their rooms are quite nice and they would be a steal at the prices I mentioned. However, the rakeback offer they're promoting also costs them money. The offer I proposed would only be available to higher limit players. I just think my idea or some variant of it would be more likely to attract tourist cash. If the tourists start to come, the local grinders will soon follow. Best wishes, Ethan |

Imagine if the poker room manager approached the the VP of Hotel Operations asking for a greater discount for poker room guests, she would be laughed out of the office - the Venetian is in the business of making money, the Poker Room is one of the many ways they do it; they cannot support the Poker Room at the expense of hotel bottom line. |

[/ QUOTE ] My comment was not about supporting or advocating any particular site. It was about the fact that the Mod of a B&M Poker Forum should know where basic B&M Poker Room info is available. I'll leave it at that, in this forum. +++++++++ Back to Venetian. I have stayed there several times before we moved to Vegas, and can completely objectively state that thier standard "rooms" are indeed undeniably "suites" and realistically should be called as such. When Rio first opened, it was deemed as an "all suite hotel casino" but comparing their rooms (where I have also stayed) to those of Venetian is like comparing Sahara to Bellagio. Love or hate the V, but no one can deny that their standard rooms are indeed very large, and can be sincerely referred to as suites, without it just being a advetising tool. |

I know where information is available - in fact I have to be at the V this evening for diner, but mid-thread its more conducive to forum traffic to just ask |

They tried to get the $40 on Friday, then dropped it to a $30. Apparently it didn't stick.

So has this reduced rake "unofficially" started yet, or is it not starting until April 1?
