I'll readily admit that I was fooled by that picture. Sklansky is a man for whom social norms and consideration for others *seems* to come second. Would he date/hook-up/sleep/etc with an emotionally disturbed young girl? Sure, if she turned him on. Brandi *seems* to be a psycologically disturbed young girl with Daddy issues and if half the stories (Capt. Tom, Newhizzle, Dutch) we hear about her are true, it is not far-fetched to believe that she would flirt with DS in the belief that he could improve her game. In fact, that much IS probably true.
As for the pose, to me, it appeared to be playful flirting - a pose that would likely be held for half a minute or so - more than enough time for a random poster to pass by on the way to the bathroom and take a picture on the way. That anyone at all could think the picture real does not show a defect in their deductive reasoning, but rather highlights that that reasoning includes personality profiles for DS and BR that would allow such a pose to naturally occur. I had the pleasure of meeting Brandi today at the Commerce and can confirm that she is indeed much hotter in person. I did not talk to her except to introduce myself as she was embroiled in a 40-80 LHE game and showed no interest in continuing the conversation beyond "nice to meet you." I still have no greater insight into who this girl is than any of my fellow NVGers who have been following the Brandi saga. Well, not quite true, I suppose I learned a great deal from her body language. (which returns us to the picture: the body language captured is as I and others interpretted it - playful flirting. Though all that the picture and that body language implied is now revelled to be untrue) Meh? I was fooled. |

I must admit, I guess I was also fooled. Similarly to CardSharpCook, I also assumed the photo was some sort of playful flirting, just caught in an unfortunate pose. While personally I think there was good reason to think the picture was real (ie the posts that have been going on in NVG and Brandi's 2+2 history), I think the main reason is just the fact that it's more exciting to believe it all, along with the fact that it make no difference to me if it's real or not.
Basically, it is far more interesting if I think there is something going on between Sklansky and Brandi than not. I really have no actual clue about their lives beyond what I've read at 2+2, and admittedly I don't really care much about their personal lives beyond 2+2. This whole thing is less interesting now that that David has claimed it's false. I was quite happy believing it was all true. If this was some serious issue, then hey, of course I'd think about it properly, but if it's David and Brandi getting it on, then it doesn't really matter to me whether it's true or not, thus it's more interesting to just assume it's true. The entertainment value gained to me from NVG is what matters, whatever the hell actually did or did not happen. (Excuse random bad grammer etc, I've been drinking, plus excuse the obvious lameness because I'm posting on 2+2 while semi drunk). |

I don't know David, I just think having a little higher regard for dignity is much higher EV in the long term.

All, Can someone tell me if I one of the ones who was fooled if I saw that picture and I thought "Sklansky is trying to have sex with Brandi"? It didn't cross my mind whether the photo was staged or not. Who's leveling who here? EDIT: To clarify, if it had been real, he's trying to sex Brandy. If not, he's trying to sex Brandi. The staged/not staged question is moot. And it's not creepy for an older man to want to sex a younger woman at all, it's standard. [/ QUOTE ] I still think he is trying to have sex with her. I don't care if the photo is staged or not. |

[ QUOTE ]
do you young guys just assume men over 40 stop wanting to bang younger women for some reason? The reason we do go after younger, hotter girls is because we can still get them. [/ QUOTE ] No, but I do assume that by 40 most men are grounded, mature, and sexually confident enough, to not need the "thrill of conquest" that "bagging a hot chick" brings. I guess I would assume that even a single guy over 40, would be placing a higher value on other desirable traits, rather than just hotness. I don't think there is anything morally wrong with middle age men chasing young girls... I just think it is kind of pathetic. |
