It's nice to know that my 5000+ posts may one day save me from having my funds stolen by a disreputable poker site.

I probably don't need to worry, though. I only play on Stars now. In reading the UB and FTP-related posts over the last couple of weeks, I'm terrified to deposit anywhere else.

I don't buy the reputation part as much. The FTP situation there's a lot more evidence of something scammy. If those are the only two datapoints we have, I think there's other factors in play.

My bigger concern is that they're taking the money, holding it, and waiting for somebody to bitch. The lack of proactive investigation to make sure they're right in their account closing is unsettling.

We observed in a different thread that it appears Strassa was able to get his money back from Prima possibly due to his 2+2 reputation.

I think it can definitely be a factor.
I really doubt this would have gotten reversed so quickly if it were not for good2's post and rep here.

Having a ton of posts here is no guarantee that any misidentified fraud will be reversed. But I really do believe it could help.
