Dennis DeYoung, not DeWitt you fool.
Bleh, I tried. Anyways, I doubt this has been mentioned but I thought I'd toss him out there for another DH nomination, Steven Page from BNL. Never seen their shows, but I hear they put on a great concert, mostly due to the antics. |

There's a lot of *ok* front men in the replies, but for *the* greatest, I can't see how it can be anyone other than Robert Plant, Jim Morrison, or Ozzy Osbourne. The legacy and influence left by each of these in their own different way is not something that can be compared to most of the replies. My vote if I had to choose one would certainly be Robert Plant--voice, chicks, legend status, music, influence, unlike any before him or since really...

Wow, well if we're trying to fill the list to 100, these two should definitely be included.
David Byrne (Talking Heads) Tom Waits (yeah I know, his band runs under his name, but they're still incredible musicians) |

chick banging ability [/ QUOTE ] To me, this has nothing to do with how good a lead singer is, and everything to do with how much a person enjoys being a lead singer. Voice is the most important for true lead singers that don't have a guitar in their hands. Based on voice, stage presence, energy, etc., I nominate Brian Johnson from AC/DC. His voice is as recognizable as anyone's. If you've seen them in concert, you cannot avoid being crazy excited during the whole show. Plus he has a cool accent. |

Ed Kowalczyk of Live is the easy choice for this [/ QUOTE ] Why do people always say this? There aren't many "easy" answers to this question. While Live is good, Ed Kowalczyk is DEFINITELY not the "easy choice." |
