3 reasons why Argentina blew this game:

1. The injury to Abbondanzieri. This took a sub away from Argentina that could have been used to put Messi in when Germany tied it up. Also, if the game goes to PKs, Franco's inexperience could be a factor.

2. Taking Riquelme out of the game. Why? This made no sense to me. He's your best player, you need him for 90 minutes.

3. The decision to sit back and play for the 1-0 win with 40 minutes left to play. Unless it says "Italia" on the front of your jersey, this is way too long a period of time to play pure defense.

It's been a great game, though, and hopefully we see a legit goal to win it in extra-time.
