Re: Most disturbing scene in a movie
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I can't believe no one has mentioned "The Passion of the Christ", yet. [/ QUOTE ] Probably because it bores you to death before while also being explicitly violent. [/ QUOTE ] Wow. Hard to believe someone who would say that bothered to watch it at all. That makes about as much sense to me as the legions of movie goers who complained about Private Ryan being too violent. Helpful tip: Beavis and Butthead do America is stupid, go figure. That said: I havn't seen all the rape scene movies mentioned above (or House of 1000 Corpses), but the scene in Devils Rejects was as far as I could tolerate, which is impressive in itself. I don't have much tolerance for psycho sexual stuff, and he pushed exactly to my limit and then stopped, that was the closest I have ever come to walking out. The 'out of blue' truck scene really capped the sequence nicely. F'd up movie, and pretty good at it. |

I really enjoyed them, it was more like Texas Chainsaw Massacre on acid. There are several movies not mentioned here that are typically listed for the gorest. Salo - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073650/ Men Behind The Sun - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093170/ August Underground's Mordum - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0410332/ And to those talking about Cannibal Halocaust, I was pretty disappointed by it. I think the most bothersome scene, if any, was the turtle scene. The muskrat scene was shorter and just didn't bother me as much. |

Re: Most disturbing scene in a movie
Suicide Club has three top scenes for me:
1. first scene when 50 or so school girls gleefully hop in front of a metro. 2. when the school kids jump off the roof 3. when the protagonist (?) sees his family has just all committed suicide (including his young son and daughter) and then blows his own head off. |

[ QUOTE ]
I just watched Apocalypse Now again and I forgot the sick feeling I got when Kurtz tossed Chef's head into Willard's lap. Also, the cow slaughter scene. [/ QUOTE ] The cow scene bothered me pretty good, but it really bothered me when I looked on the net and saw that it wasn't fake, but that they'd really filmed some group of people doing this as a ritual. Re: Most disturbing scene in a movie
Un Chien Andalou. Surprised no one's mentioned it, it took me about four goes to keep my eyes open. Also, did Wolf Creek get released in the US? It's an Australian horror movie that I found pretty offensive on a number of levels, but it is pretty skillfully constructed and certainly had a more visceral effect on me than any other film I've ever seen. "Head on a stick", for anyone who's seen it. |
