I don't think they are dead, I just can't buy it.

The writers clearly went out of their way to introduce these characters. I'm racking my brain trying to think of some purpose they served, and I can't think of anything really. Has to be something more, no?

He acted really annoying, everyone hated him, he died and we laughed. Paulo and Nikki were clearly introduced for dramatic reasons and not comedic ones.
