wait a minute, this is the stupidest thing i've ever read.

give me $1000. i could lose it at roulette or blackjack or craps in less than 1 minute. i could NOT lose it in poker in less than 1 minute. this is painfully obvious, and i'd challenge anyone to prop bet what i've claimed.

[/ QUOTE ]

You could lose 1000$ in less than 1 min in blackjack but not in roulette or craps... in poker you can lose it as fast as in roulette or craps. You need to provide an argument, what you provided is a statement without backing it up.

[/ QUOTE ]tell me what your strategy is for losing $1000 poker, then i'll tell you mine for losing $1000 at roulette and i guarantee mine will be quicker.

That's fast.

I was thinking move all-in and throw your cards into the muck.

You win.

lol exactly, you can lose for sure in the first few seconds in poker but in roulette you can't, even if you put 1000$ on 0, you aren't guarenteed to lose.

[/ QUOTE ] if this is valid, then i should be able to make my BJ strategy "bet it all on one hand, then say "i forfeit my bet!" and run out the casino.

You're moving the goalposts.

I'm pretty sure if you're using this strategy, any game with a 1k blind will let you buy in for one blind.

[/ QUOTE ]fine, but if folding when checking and seeing a showdown for free is allowed, then betting all my money on a hand of blackjack, then forfeiting my bet and walking out the casino should be allowed too.

and if you seriously want to say that posting 1 blind and folding is an appropriate strategy, then realize that you can't even apply this to online poker.

Using the player results volatility angle to determine if a game is skill, wouldn't poker, blackjack, AND craps all fit into the skill category (even if in craps and non counting blackjack you can't reach a longterm +EV)?

Take craps for instance. I play the line (very small house edge) and I take the maximum odds after the point is established (no house edge). You play all the corny prop bets with your hard 8's and horns and field and big 6 and your long term results are going to be well short of mine in the long run.

Is that skill then that I avoid the highest house percentage bets and you don't? We're certainly attempting to do that in poker. Make decisions to have the math percentages in our favor (which in turn means another player hurts from this).

Obviously craps wouldn't qualify as every bet (ok, as a technicality, the 5 number bet with 0, 00, 1, 2, and 3 has a higher one) has the same house advantage.
