Yeah, the number of files it's copying is slowing down the process a little too much. The problem is I'm not sure exactly which files were modified by DpR. If he jumps in here and can tell me what files, or at least what directories were affected by his mod maybe I can make a few changes.

What you're seeing after Stars being loaded is the current version of Stars being "stored" so any update Stars issues, such as yesterday's update to the fast tables, will work correctly and you don't get prompted to update Stars to the latest version every time you start it up.

So 38 files in total. Let me know if the file names are not clear.

Ok, thanks. I should be able to speed up the loading process by copying just those folders instead of the entire themes folder. I'll see if I can put something together and I'll post it here when I do.

You didn't make any changes to the card graphics - chips and deck? It seemed like Stars kept prompting me to update unless I copied this folder as well.

The fastest way to do this is to
1) RAR or ZIP your pokerstars directory.
- its easiest to zip the whole directory
- then open and remove all the stuff that's not
part of your mod, eg *.exe, *.txt and so on

2) Everytime you play run pokerstars.exe, not the updater

3) If you want to update run the updater, then extract the zip file and overwrite.

Voila!

the problem is that it seems your player notes are not saved when you run pokerstars.exe.

It does look like it wasn't necessary to copy the card graphics folder. Because of this, the easiest solution for people already using this .bat is to simply delete these four lines:

xcopy /y /e "Gx\chips&deck\deck\simple" "Gx\chips&deck\deck\simplenew"
xcopy /y /e "Gx\chips&deck\deck\simpleold" "Gx\chips&deck\deck\simple"
xcopy /y /e "Gx\chips&deck\deck\simple" "Gx\chips&deck\deck\simpleold"
xcopy /y /e "Gx\chips&deck\deck\simplenew" "Gx\chips&deck\deck\simple"


Save the .bat file. To clean things up a little more, you can also go into the \Pokerstars\Gx\chips&deck\deck\ folder and delete the folders named "simpleold" and "simplenew" as these are no longer needed. Do NOT delete the folder named "simple".

Voila! Loads twice as fast.

hmm, do you have any idea why I might be having that problem then? I posted on this forum and somebody replied that they also had the problem when using pokerstars.exe and that it went away when they used pokerstarsupdate.exe, so I figured that was the culprit.

is it possible to just copy only the few files that DPR changed instead of all these directories?
