RDH - this is such a bizarre thing I would actually be worried I somehow missed out on other really basic grammar things.

[/ QUOTE ]

RDH- You always seem sharp and your posts always have some thought behind them, so it is obvious you aren't a dummy. It is just weird that this slipped past you for so long. No worries now though, never too late to make an adjustment right?!

I seriously cant imagine your friend thought supposed was really spelled sopost. Most likely, she used it because it is two letters shorter, just like some people use nite instead of night.

[/ QUOTE ]

I might agree with you if not for the fact that no one else spells "supposed" this way.

If this had a remote chance of being the correct answer she would have spelled it "supost."

I could believe a "sposed" or even "spost", but "sopost"? No chance.

mia,

A number of my friends disagree with this attitude, but I basically consider people who can't spell well to be pretty dumb.

why is this even a problem anymore online?

my web browser makes a little squiggly mark under misspelled words, and i can just right click and replace.

emails and all other written communication can be run through a spell checker in 30 seconds.

and if you're taking the time to handwrite a letter, keep a dictionary handy.

also someone in another thread just typed "from the getco"

grammar on these boards or typing ure for you're, etc. = who cares, but if a spelling mistake is so bad that it makes the reader just completely stop reading, then its crossed the line.

In conclusion: Please teach your children how to spell correctly and use proper grammar. It will help them not look like morans.

[/ QUOTE ]

You mean "morons." Was this irony intentional?
