Loud popcorn munching near by. [/ QUOTE ] I'm glad someone mentioned this, because every time someone asks me why I don't go to movies and I answer "popcorn," they look at me like I'm insane. Whenever I go to movies, I am constantly distracted by people digging around for popcorn (I HATE the sound of popped kernels rubbing against each other) and the loud chewing of popcorn. -McGee |

[ QUOTE ]
I can confirm that Alamo Draft House indeed is teh awesome. They used to have a hilarious bit during the previews where a guy was talking during the movie, blowing up his cell phone, etc., and then former Gov. Ann Richards, dressed all in white, would come in and physically toss the guy out of the theater. Across the screen: DON'T TALK DURING THE MOVIE OR ANN RICHARDS WILL TAKE YOUR ASS OUT [/ QUOTE ] This is great. |

When people clap for any reason. It's not be done, under any circumstance. [/ QUOTE ] clapping at the end of the movie is OK, but clapping to cheer on the protagonist is kinda silly. |

Re: a few things i hate about movies
On saturday night, I went to go see the Bourne movie with my dad at the Plant 16 in the valley (bad neigbborhood but sherman oaks was sold out). This mexican teenager lets his phone ring a few times in the middle of the movie, then he picks it up and HAS A CONVERSATION...
My dad says to him "excuse me. Please go outside if you're gonna talk on the phone" Mexican kid turns around and says "Why" with a typical cocky tough guy demeanor. My dad is a bit flustered, but decides to just drop it. I guess I could have jumped in, but I thought the quickest way to restore calm and get the kid off the phone would be to back off. Plus I didn't want to get stabbed. |

Re: a few things i hate about movies
People who laugh at every slightly humorous moment during the previews. It's not even proper laughter, because they know that it's not funny enough to properly laugh out loud, but hell, they feel the need to make a noise anyway.
It's especially annoying during the previews because obviously they've been edited together to show the funniest bits crammed into 1 minute. So it's just non stop weak attempts and laughing from the whole theatre. |

Re: a few things i hate about movies
Guess I'm the only one who thinks cinemas have the volume down waaayyyy too low. I want women to have [censored] orgasms due the bass, not to have to keep asking my mate what a character just said because I couldn't hear it.

Re: a few things i hate about movies
I hate that the actual start of the feature is always 15 to 20 minutes after the listed time. |
