On a serious not, I guess what I'm getting from OP is that hardline Jews are not tolerant of other belief systems.

[/ QUOTE ]
You are (unintentionally I assume) misreading what I have said.
At no point have I said that Christians or members of any other religions are in any way bad. What I am saying is that under Jewish law it is forbidden for a Jew to marry a non-jew. Simple as that.
The talmud relates a story of Rabbi Akiva who told his non-jewish householder that in order to be a good person she should keep her own religion.

I have always taught my kids to be tolerant of other people's beliefs. That does not mean I have to agree with the beliefs.

Doesn't being a Jew or any other religion pretty much state that you can't kill another person? Isn't joining the Army a bad idea for someone religious?

Pacifism is not a big part of any of the major religions. Stuff like "Thou shalt not kill" does not apply to situations where your nation is a target to be wiped off the map. I'm not going to go into a history of Just War theory, but it has Christian foundations.

Individually, conscientious objectors do exist on religious grounds, but following any of the mainstream religious doctrines does not preclude one from serving in the military.

Assuming the circles OP runs with are the serious cockblockers he says, I can understand why the 22 yo son is already married.

So well said lolz. BREAKER 19! (<---10$ on stars to whatever busto can explain this reference.)

And thus, we see the inherent problem in devout religion epitomized. OP has driven his son into an early marriage and an unhappy life. Lord only knows what the seminary son must've been going through.

So, marrying a Christian is kinda like marrying bin Laden, interesting.

[/ QUOTE ]
Knew there were people who were going to read it like that.
I did not say that marrying a Christian is like marrying a terrorist.
What I said was that the same way as one parent might put a borderline at that point I have the right to put it where I think good.

[/ QUOTE ]

But would you be fine with your daughter marrying an alcoholic, wife beating Jew? Or marrying a terrorist on the scale of bin Laden if he was Jewish?

I would hope not as the examples you gave actually bring danger upon your daughter, just like no one who wasn't Jewish would want their children marrying such people. But you seem to think that drawing lines against these people is the same as drawing lines based on religion.

Am I going to be the first one to rip this guy for believing in a retarded religion? Sure bro. An omniscient omnipotent god cares whether you ritually bathe after your rag or not. Furthermore, he will be supremely offended by sex (such a sin) without a bath first. LOL Dogma. Religion is absurd and your a bad father for putting that on your children. If you had allowed them to grow up independent of your beliefs in this modern society they would have been able to live more truthful/happy lives.
