whoa whoa, tuq. being single doesn't mean you can't date chicks. unless i am confused about the terminology these days?

[/ QUOTE ]

yeah, i assumed this was a "why aren't you in a long term relationship?" thread, and not a "why don't you talk to girls?" thread.

[/ QUOTE ]

right hahaha exactly. i mean it could be a "why don't you talk to girls" thread for some.. and that's fine. not me though.

They are flaky, insane, moody, scandalous, and weird.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, pretty much covers my thoughts.

I am insanely impatient, to the point where it's impossible for me to put up with the BS that inevitably accompanies 90%+ of girls who are 7/10+. With girls that are 6/10-, I know I'd only date them as a temporary solution, and I'm not into using people. So, single it is.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes sir. Also, if you don't score with a girl upon the first try you view it as automatic defeat and communicate your profound disappointment to the girl. Try not to do that

[/ QUOTE ]

FFK, I see what you are saying, but as a general observation girls/women who are both single and 7/10+ (for some definition of 7/10 - the OOT scale still confuses me...) PROBABLY have something going on either issue or personality wise. FWIW, I think that you would probably make a similar assumption about the top x% of men that happen to be single - simple supply and demand would indicate that there is probably a reason.

I have been single for MOST of my life (am not at the moment) but it was always because I spent a lot of my free time trashed and acting retarded with friends. This is a good way to meet one night stands and insane women, but not a good way to meet girls I enjoy spending time with (while sober).

[/ QUOTE ]
Whoa, that sounds too much like me. How'd you meet your current girl?

[/ QUOTE ]
Ha - actually met her out at a bar. She had been dragged out by a friend from out of town.

IMO, this statement is true, and pretty disconcerting.

So you didn't change your ways and totally just lucked out. And I thought maybe I could learn something. Nuts.

I'm single because I travel a lot and don't have a permanent home right now, and I haven't met anyone I wanted to see long-term, anyway.

Now, there are a lot of reasons why the latter is, but that's a different thread.

daryn,

I wanted to finish reading the thread before responding.

The subject line is ambiguous, and judging by the responses I think a lot of people are interpreting it as I did, in which "single" means "not dating anyone but their hand" and then citing some personal issues/deformities as the reason(s) why.

So if I was to interpret it your way, then the answer is that I'm single because being married is f'in retarded IMO.
