Re: Official Full Tilt Poker Response to Bot Thread
[ QUOTE ]
Serious post time: Anyone who thinks that nlnut isn't using bots is either stupid, ignorant, or doesn't understand poker very well. It's obvious he's using a bot...or his team is using bots. Now, while I concede there may not be enough evidence to warrant seizure of funds, it certianly seems that at least closing their accounts and mailing them a check for the funds is at LEAST the very minimum that should be done. How can someone seriously argue that those post flop stats are "based off of a secret strategy"...give me a break. Either Full Tilt doesn't care and just wants the rake money, or their fraud team is headed by a bunch of morons. (I highly doubt they'd risk everything by allowing bots, so I'm assuming that their security team is just retarded) Step it up guys, this level of incompetence is highly unacceptable. [/ QUOTE ] I agree. This post is harsh but true. I don't care if there are two respected posters here who are vouching for the cheaters or if the incompetant FTP team didn't find them guilty. These guys are just obviously using some form of software to automate their decisions. Also the FTP investigation team should be very ashamed of themselves for not finding these guys on their own. That's just despicable when you look at how obvious the signs are. |

Re: Official Full Tilt Poker Response to Bot Thread

Without having read this thread, did everybody consider the possibility that FT might have reopened the accounts with the intention to further analyze/datamine the accounts so they could obtain necessary evidence to bust the bots? Furthermore, we might have ruined that plan? [/ QUOTE ] HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Wow, that's a good one. Yeah the geniuses in the FTP security team really had a detailed sting operation in place. They probably intentionally allowed them to keep playing undetected for months until the OP pointed them out too. Because they really wanted to make sure that they had a full year's worth of concrete data or something. |

Re: Official Full Tilt Poker Response to Bot Thread
FTPSean, if you know anything about stats, I can show you tests proving (to the furthest extent I can) that there is no way these users cannot be bots.

We could tell you some of the relevant details of our investigation, but won't, because that would reveal our strategy. And we won't do that.

Re: Official Full Tilt Poker Response to Bot Thread
Obviously this is all about the Benjamins. They think they are going to make more rake keeping the bots than banning them, and are issuing an absurd press release to mitigate the damage they know it will cause.
The only way they will reconsider is if allowing bots costs them more than kicking them off. Anyone who stops playing at FTP because of this and cashes out immediately should let them know why they're leaving. While 2+2 by itself isn't going to make a huge dent in their rake, the combination of all the poker fora just might. |

[/ QUOTE ] Can your stats differentiate between BOTs and Humans w/ Decision Support Software? [/ QUOTE ] The results I'm getting make it very unlikely humans had more than a tiny impact on the hands these users played (in other words bots played almost every single hand). For example, let's say I test Ho: p1 = p2 vs. Ha: p1 != p2, and I want to compare vpip of 1forthethumb to full_tilting. Using a two sample test for proportions, we get a test statistic of -.00005! This means it's pretty much impossible to reject Ho, that the vpip for the two players is the same. I think you will find similar results comparing pfr, betting, raising, cbets, etc. |

Re: Official Full Tilt Poker Response to Bot Thread
At a live poker table in a casino, would it be allowed to bring a computer with you, enter the hand information, and then follow the computer programs advice on play?
Its humans doing the play right? If you saw somebody being allowed to do that at a casino, would you sit at the table? How about if 7 of the 10 seats had computers? Casinos dont allow this because they know it would lead all the "fish" to stay away from the table: the amatuer would feel outclassed, and the "play for fun" guys would find it no fun. This whole debate needs to become a debate on just how much computer "assistance" is going to be allowed for online play. Personally, as a "good" player but not a pro, occasionaly I would play the computer assisted opponent, they can be easily figured out and beat by the skilled. But I mostly play for fun and sitting down just to figure out the humanbot's weakness is not fun (of course winning is fun too, thats why I like improving my play as much as the next 2+2er). I really like FTP. I like the site, I like their reps being here, I like their willingness to continue US play, I like their support of the PPA, I LOVE their commercials, etc.... But if FTP becomes the humanbot playground or the pokersweatshop home, I am not going to play there because it just wont be fun. Skallagrim |

Re: Official Full Tilt Poker Response to Bot Thread
Anyone who says Full Tilt wants bots is talking out of their ass. It's so ignorant to make statements like:
"Full Tilt makes so much rake off the bots." or "The only way they will reconsider is if allowing bots costs them more than kicking them off." If these statements were true, why on earth would FT have run the one month investigation to begin with? To make it appear like they're trying (because they KNEW someone was going to make a 2+2 zoo post a month later and they wanted to cover themselves)?? Get real. |
