Re: who\'s a better guitarist?
[ QUOTE ]
Alex Skolnick, who certainly knows a lot about good music, is revolted by DT as much as I am. [/ QUOTE ] lol. If i were to go by your logic, using someones taste in music to judge how good it is.then.... Most of DT's fans are probably musicians themselves. A large percentage of those musicians are people who have dedicated and made music there passion in life. They practice music and listen to music all day. Would they not be the ones who have "good taste" in music? The musicians themselves must know what there talking about surely? sry about wanting to kill you but ignorant people just drive me insane. |

Hendrix's style, while not that difficult compared to so many of today's guitar players, was absolutely unheard of when he broke on the scene in the late '60s. Comparing the technical difficulty of Hendrix's soloes with Steve Vai's or Joe Satriani's is a mistake similar to comparing the P-51 Mustang to an F-18 and saying the Mustang isn't that great a plane. [/ QUOTE ] EXCELLENT ANALOGY |

[ QUOTE ] Forget Jeff Beck's early stuff. The stuff he's doing today is mind-blowing. [/ QUOTE ] Can you recommend me an album? I got You had it coming, someone else told me I should have bought something else. [/ QUOTE ] You had it coming is my favorite. If you didn't like it, then don't bother with the others. |

Re: who\'s a better guitarist?
without Buddy Guy there would be no Eric Clapton,Jeff Beck,Led Zeppelin.
he is the best living blues/ rock guitarist right now still and he's 71 years old. He was the bridge between chicago blues and late 1960's blues rock-sick guitairst the best imo. Hendrix was a fan of Buddy Guy. Buddy guy blew it all out -he was louder than anyone up to that time-he introduced heavy use of feedback and other tricks..Hendrix learned to play with his teeth from Buddy. in 1960's Chess Records would not release and promote his stuff eventhu he was signed to the label-he was just too wild and loud...only latter after Buddy Guy went to the UK and Clapton an others modeled thier sound from his was he supported by Chess. Buddy Guy is King! |
