However, I still think it is sick to see so many people happy when others do poorly.

The majority of you guys are losing poker players who are jealous of others success. You enjoy hearing other players failures as it makes you feel better about your miserable lives. Go back to the NL 25 tables.

[/ QUOTE ]

So it makes you happy that they are losing players at the 25NL tables right?

[/ QUOTE ]

Well done, I liked it.

My comments are focused towards the people who are happy about others demise. That is weak.

[/ QUOTE ]

But you said them in a way that made it seem like you were attacking everyone interested in the story.

[/ QUOTE ]

Indeed. This is unfortunately standard practice, too, whenever someone has the temerity to doubt or question anyone with some sort of celebrity. People commonly build up such ideas about well-known others in their minds that if those others aren't kept permanently beyond the reach of doubt, and are indeed questioned by "the ordinary," only nefarious motivations can be assumed. The questioner becomes villifed and subject to attack to the same unnecessary and naive extent as the hero becomes sanctified and untouchable.

Heroes are easy to love; it's having respect for anyone else that's hard.

"...so i was able to get 50k from 3 different people. Lol, i have 50bb for this game, not Big Bets, big blinds... 50k was not even in the realm of reality in the world of 500/1000 limit holdem.

But the guy offers me a HU game, I say sure, what stakes. He said 500/1000

[/ QUOTE ]

wtf. who goes from playing 2/4 to 500/1k?

here's another one from his story when he is talking about discovering online poker.
[ QUOTE ]
Play low limit for awhile, never spend enough time at home to really play, always on the road, it seemed.

[/ QUOTE ]

so he doesn't have enough time to play online poker because he's on "tour" playing pool when he says he can't make money because he's too good and no one will play him, but he plays 2/4 split games at the pool hall. he's made some really good decisions.

dude, giga mentions multiple accounts several times thoughout that post...seems familiar

[/ QUOTE ]
That was somewhat suspicious, but not necessarily bad. This is back when Party had skins so he legitimately could have been playing sometime as one account and sometimes as another.

[/ QUOTE ]

Plus it was pretty common for top STT players to have multiple accounts on 1 site so they could 8, 12, or 16 table prior to the split and Party allowing more tables. I can think of several other players that used to post hands from multiple accounts. Who knows whether it was for multiaccounting MTTs or not?

From Giga's post:
[ QUOTE ]
On Sunday am, I play the 6am limit 109, and win that. I got HU with Danny Alaei, if anyone knows him. Good friend of mine. Then I play the big sunday event, and get 4th in that, can't remember how many were in that field, but first was around 80k. I am including monday in my weekend also, so no one gets confused. Monday, I play the party special, and win that, but even more impressive I think is that I made the final table of every single 109 mtt that ran that day starting with the 11am and finishing with the 11pm one. And I won 3 of those. I was playing as SwiftSteal in the 109 mtts, and Gigabet in the special.

After that, I was sure online poker was rigged....but who cares, since it was obviously rigged for me.

Then the Steps come....Party just can't be satisfied until I have 849704509768905760295 billion dollars.

I absolutely crushed the step tournaments when they first came out as two table events , and I played every single one of them that ran in december. I was winning every other one of them, it seemed. Party was still rigged in my favor, yes!

[/ QUOTE ]

Just to remind you: the skins did not share the MTTs but they did share their STTs. So to be able to play more than 4 STTs at the same time, you needed accounts with several skins, but to be able to play the Partypoker Monday Special at the same time as every 109 MTT that ran on Partypoker under two different names, you needed to be logged in into two Partypoker accounts simultanteously. This implies he had the means to play two or more Partypoker accoutns at the same time and thus that the option to multiaccount mtts was real for him.

Furthermore, Ive heard rumours that the 2 table 5k Step SNGs were massively cheated with multiaccount practices, and Giga has also been very succesful in that field. Now saying that his succes mainly depended on multiaccounting would obviously be speculation, but a lot of things seem to add up in that direction. Maybe he can easily clarify some of the questions asked in this thread, but we havent heard yet from him since the ZJ scandal broke(him and ZJ are good friends)

Low-limit donk here. I'll add some more gristle to the meal. As near as I can tell, SevnFigures is Gigabet's other brother and is the one who Gigabet refers to as the best SnG player on Party. SevnFigures actually used to be near the top of the leaderboard quite a bit.

However, I have seen her several times in my $22 SnGs. This probably means that she closed the account at some point and some donkey changed their name in an attempt to garner fame and forutune. However, if Gigabet's brother (Larry?) actually still owns the account, I find it unusual that the best SnG player on Party would play $22 SnGs. Also, when I saw her in the $22s, it didn't seem like she was blowing off steam but was rather playing to win.

Hearing about Gigabet going busto is very interesting, but I would also like to know how much Giga was clearing when he was pillaging the SnGs and MTTs. Does anyone know what his annual income was from SnGs and MTTs? I'm guessing it was at least $400K and may have been $1 million (with an 'm') dollars. After reading through this thread, I'm assuming that much of that money was lost at online high-stakes NL games and the rest (and then some) was lost at high-stakes live games.

Great thread.

There was a post on the old board where Gigabet's brother, the one he calls a genius in that life story thread, said he was clearing in excess of 20K a month.

If you read that post linked to by ED, Gigabet says that his win rate really increased when he used some new techniques that didn't work so well in SnGs but really worked well in MTTs. I believe he stated that he was able to make 3 final tables in 3 different MTTs in one weekend. Gigabet doesn't go into detail as to what the techniques are that enabled him to make final tables so often.

However, we know that ZJ was able to score some impressive finishes in MTTs by multi-accounting. Perhaps Giga inventend some other method that let him run over the huge MTT fields with a single account.

No, he wasn't. He didn't make any big scores on his other accounts, and he says this in his statement. Lee Jones also confirmed that he only used a single account the day that he won the big sunday tournament.

Do you know if that figure included MTTs? I'm thinking that $20K figure may have been mainly from SnGs. My theory is that Giga was a damn fine SnG player who made a nice income ($20K per month) from SnGs. Then, one day he figured out some new technique that allowed him to crush the MTTs and really increase his earn. Perhaps one day we will discover the methods Giga employed to rape the MTTs.
