Then I think that removes a pretty big barrier to prosecution

special,

it occurs to me that I didnt really answer your question yesterday

Am I a lawyer?

no

Do I think pete should pursue a lawsuit for the banning?

Well, to be honest, Im not sure. Per above, Im no lawyer. So, I dont know if there is some law against unjust banning. Given the nature of internet legislature, Id have to guess that there probably isnt. Since the internet is so new, there is sort of a legislating lag. It seems fair to reason that the first laws that were written dealt with only the major issues, and this is probably a second or third tier issue, and the government might not have had time to weigh in on this issue yet. Beyond that, pete is Canadian and CMAR is (presumably) Amercican. Even if CMAR broke a law, how do we procede from there? I have doubts that he would be extradited over it; I mean, it cant be that big of a deal, I dont think.

I bet its 100-1, or even a little worse, that anything would come of it. But, if I were in pete's position Id think about looking into it. Obviously, I cant him what to do.

Ishmael,

I don't recall asking either of those questions, I believe if you check you'll see Q1 was in fact "are you, like, a lawyer or something ".

Although I am interested to know what " procede " means? Is that an Amercican (sic) word?

I guess the real question is: now that you cast your mind back, would you care to revise or amplify any of your earlier propositions in this thread.

DUCY? (probably not)

Special,

Am I an "or something"

Yes

also, procede = proceed

FYI: as a general rule, if a word doesnt appear to be part of the current language being, but it is spelled the same as a word that IS part of the language, except for two consecutive letters being flipped, AND that word works in context, its probably safe to go ahead and assume that is the word and was a typo. Hope this helps.
