sitting on a little over 30k. How bad is it to 4 bet bluff an old guy?

I had been fairly aggressive and this guy seems to like to "keep us kids honest". In retrospect, it's probably more calling down than 3 betting from the blinds. I guess I should have been sure that he 3 bets light before bluffing...
Sad thing is, everyone at that table thinks I am a maniac and the table broke the next hand.
