Default Re: Tyson VS Ali in Eaches Prime

Tyson beat [censored] boxers. Watch his fights. People practically ran away from him. They were easy opponents. When Tyson fought anybody with a hint of boxing skill, he was beaten. Holyfield, Lewis hell even James 'Quick' Tillis gave him trouble. Buster Douglas made him his bitch for the entire fight.

Tyson was not tested enough early in his career. He fought tomato cans and past-their-prime nobodies to an undefeated record.

Ali fought some of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all-time and surpassed them all. It's a shame that we don't get to see how good he could have been if he didn't give up the prime of his career because of his opposition to the Vietnam War.

People forget, or straight-up don't realize how good of a fighter Larry Holmes was (even at age 38 when Tyson devoured him). Holmes fought competetively, and well, into his 50's. Holmes' wiki page

And Tyson KO'd Douglas. The fight should have ended with Tyson winning, when Buster was on the floor for 14 seconds. I will concede that aside from that one knock-down, Douglas' handling of Tyson in that fight was legendary.

That is probably my favorite fight to re-watch. Up there with the Thrilla-in-Manilla, and Tyson/Holyfield and Holyfield/Foreman
