uhhhh no it's not normal to breakeven for 100k hands

you almost have to TRY to lose as much as I did in as short a span as many times.



how is this anywhere near a normal downswing?

Um a lot of the people complaining about downswings in this thread have been playing straight up awful poker.

I've never even had 10 buyin downswing although I have never played higher than 3/6 for a significant amount of time

It is entirely possible to get your money in good or at least make the right plays and still lose consistently. I know that's tough for some to believe.

However, I think that if you guys chilled out on the volume during these swings and just played fewer tables/more hours with the intent on playing 100% focussed poker, you might have better results. As soon as you aren't focussed, just quit for the time being. Other things you can do but anyway I just think these <20 bi swings are probably avoidable.

Advice:

1. take a week off from poker

2. When you come back, hire a coach, any coach. it will at least cause you to play less tables while you're being coached and to think about all the reasoning behind every decision. (well, at least if you hire MDMA... I'm sure plenty others will do the same for you).
