will someone explain to me the point of grading drafts?

[/ QUOTE ]

To determine who got the most (or least) out of its picks in the NFL draft.

I thought the reasoning would be self-explanatory.

Just 3 years to early

something like that. I just don't understand rating draft picks right now

I touched on this in my other thread. basically, grades now equal "how close a given teams scouting department agrees with conventional wisdom"

Great pick for oakland right off the top.

Seriously, what a way to start the draft.

I think Al Davis is letting Lane Kiffin take the reins this time.

Also, great pick by Tampa, taking Tanard Jackson. I wanted him to drop to the Giants.

Eh, maybe the Giants end up getting Mason Crosby.

Raiders trade Randy Moss to the Patriots for a fourth round pick.

And Antonio Pittman gets picked by...the Saints. Wow.

It makes as much sense as:
Watching the draft.
Paying this much attention to a game.
Playing fantasy sports.
Spending time in a forum talking about the draft.

But we're here anyway...

Well, the Giants did get linebacker help...at the wrong position. Zac DeOssie is an *inside* linebacker. Not outside linebacker! We got Antonio Pierce already.

Giants might end up driving me to the bottle.

It's easy to give out results-oriented grades three years from now. That's like giving out season grades after the season is over. Hmmm... which team won the Super Bowl? Let's give them an A. What fun is that?

Let us have our fun. You don't have to join in.

SuperUberBob,

I like your grades. But do the Eagles get a D or an F? (You gave them a D in the first post and an F in the cliff's notes)

I would give them an F.
