so I finish my session and see im down 3900 in june (from a peak of +7100 - this is the last two days). I check my account balances and it doesnt match. turns out i was only down 3k in my second session. ship it.

Tonight in the Bellagio 10/20: Game is good. Not great, no one too deep, except for Matt Flynn on my right. Good guy, and incredible live player as I was about to witness. UTG, who was wearing a full tilt cap, makes it 60, 4 calls, Matt calls, I call w/ A8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in the CO, SB folds [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img], and BB calls. So ~430 in there, 7 way.

Flop is A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9blank. PFR leads at the pot for 300, folds to Matt, he makes it 1k. I fold, BB folds, UTG instantly goes all in. It's on Matt.

He flashes me 99. In my head I'm thinking "uhhhh snap call that and SHIP IT", but he is looking at UTG. I actually thought UTG didnt want a call, because, well, I am horrible at reading people; he was staring right at Matt, which is the classic "I am strong therefore I am weak" tell. Matt decides no, this is strength. But Matt has a set!

Matt whispers to me, "this dude has 3 aces, I know it." I am thinking, "I had an ace therefore this dude can never have the case top set," but I dont think I could really say what I folded, eh? =) Matt covers the table, and it's roughly ~2.6k to him. Again, getting roughly 2:1, I would never fold a set, unless the dude showed me a bigger set.

Matt didn't take more then 30 seconds, possibly 45 seconds, and flings it into the muck. I am dumbfounded. He says what he folded, and the other dude flips over TT.

Live reads really pay off.

Also met up with Coltrane and Ed Miller, discussed their upcoming book, it seems like it will be wonderful. Was a pleasure.

Best part about that hand, too, was right after the fold was validated, Matt announces to the table, "Oh, my book will be coming out in roughly 3 weeks". It was good timing.
