wow i really should have taken into account how rigged 200NL is before i made that bet.

i mean it really really sucks when you think you hit and switch tables to do something else cause you just spiked the nuts on the turn only to find out you pushed your combo draw into a better combo draw.

Most professional players are deep in money or have other sources of additional income. Add in the fact that practically everybody overestimates how good they really are.

If anything play semi-pro for a while and see how that goes.

I am half-owner of a real-estate company that owns 26 rental properties. Also, playing at the casino 3-4x per week will leave plenty of time to do other ventures. I think it's possible. Roy Cooke I think is a good model to follow, he's a professional real estate agent and makes lots of extra income w/ poka.

I think playing poker pro is going to be getting harder and harder, more people are studying the game and looking at it as a profession where as before you had a few pros and alot of donks taking shots at poker at the casinos not knowing squat about pot odds and which hand is better than which preflop etc.... but that all changed with the televized events, at first it was good and fun and extremely profitable for everyone that knew how to play but now the fish seem to get the idea and the online pro wana bees are stuck playing against eachother, that can not be very profitable in the long run so they will probably move to their local casinos and make it hard there as well, at least at the higher limits.

so in conclusion dont give up your day job and/if you do, you have to move to vegas to have a chance regular casinos wont have enough fish pretty soon.

[/ QUOTE ]

I also will chime in and say that now is not the best time to go 'pro'
I've been playing for a living for about 3 years now and the online games are more difficult than I can ever recall over that time period. Significantly more difficult. I used to just print money at 100NL with some basic skills. Now, I've had to work much harder at my game.

Live poker seems to be as donky as ever on the other hand.

Ill be gay like Mr Donk and explain why this hand is such pimpness. its a situtation that doesnt come up often, the jist of it is that the guy who reraised preflop is still left to act if i call this bet, im atleast 60% that hes gonna raise if i just call and take my draw odds. but if i raise ai, he cant be for sure that the guy who lead the flop doesnt already have him beat. so it will put his balls in a vice, i call it the sqeeze with a twist.
