Re: Official NBA Season Thread
[ QUOTE ]
Lol Lakers aren't going anywhere. [/ QUOTE ] As long as Kobe stays, I agree. This team is shockingly good. The young guys have gotten a LOT better (Farmar and Bynum specifically), Derek Fisher is a light-year upgrade over Smush, Odom might actually be healthy, and Kobe is still god. The WC is still stacked, so I don't see them making the finals or anything, but this is a playoff team in its current form. |

Was a top-10 team until the rash of injuries last season. Is a top 10 team now. People way underrate Bryant's impact because he's an a$$hole in real life. Same for Phil, only he's equal parts a$$hole and funny. |

Re: Official NBA Season Thread

i want to set an over/under for how many weeks into the season before people start realizing that the lakers are better than denver and utah. it could also be the time i look like a complete ass and have to stuff my foot in my mouth but i don't think so. [/ QUOTE ] I can see it, but set the over/under at 7 or so. They started off last year very impressive, but nearly fell apart due to reasons more than just injuries. The talent of just Kobe and Odom along with the coaching of PJ is enough for them to scare anyone, but they need to put a full season together. Plus they got rid of Smush, which should add at least 3 more wins. |

Re: Official NBA Season Thread
Well, I picked LAL ahead of DEN in my preseason rankings. Denver is playing surprisingly well, though.

Re: Official NBA Season Thread
Celtics play 6 games against the big 3. Anyone want to set an o/u and bet on it? I think they'll go 3-3.

People (Stein, Magics announcers) are really underestimating the Cs schedule. Obviously they haven't gone through the big west teams, but that's expected. They beat a decent Toronto team, New Jersey twice, and lets not forget the absolute crushing of Denver. I mean, look at Orlando's scheudle. ooh, sonics, t'wolves, and knicks, oh my. [/ QUOTE ] i agree with this, but the Cs do have a redic easy month. |

KC- 4-2. Though 3-3 is a very safe bet.

Re: Official NBA Season Thread

Semtex, Didn't the Wolves lose to a Lakers team that went on to get buttsecksed by the Pistons? I think that was the year anyway. If so that demonstrates that the Lakers were quite beatable. [/ QUOTE ] You have a really bad memory. The Lakers were superb that season, and the main reason the Pistons raped them was because Karl Malone got hurt so they ended up having no answer for Rasheed Wallace. |

I don't know how the Jazz/Nuggs would fare against the Celts but I don't think it matters. [/ QUOTE ] Well the Celts absolutely demolished the Nuggets in their first meeting. It was close to a 40 point lead at halftime. |
