dr j,

1) fold pf; if you want to VPIP, raise depends a lot on villain's post flop tendencies.

2) raise flop

3) raise more on turn; call push, i guess.

you lose to 56 and 44, i guess, and get paid off by a chunk of other stuff. another reason to fold pf, or raise.

What should I have for my stats for pokerace? Where can I get some information on how to use those stats against opponents.

I was intending on asking feedback on my selection, so here's as good a start as any.

Two rows:

VPIP PFR AF
H ATS CB%

VPIP - % voluntarily put in pot
PFR - % preflop raise
AF - post flop aggression factor
H - hands
ATS - Attempt to Steal Blinds
CB% - % of cbets made

'cause I'm a dufus, i currently have the AF set to display 0 decimal points. I need to fix that, but I'm happy about all the others showing 0 decimal points.

I like ATS 'cause it shows me - at a glance - how much the villain's range widens as they are in later position. Eg, Player A 20/19 with 19 ATS is much looser preflop raiser UTG than Player B 20/19 with 40 ATS.

A large chunk of B's 19 pfr will come from opening a wider range later, whereas A's 19pfr is much more consistent regardless of position. I think it is a great stat to broady reflect someone's adjustment to differing positions.

Karp,

I hate the 3bet preflop, it's just totally unnecessary, especially against a guy with stats at nitty as 18/9.

Flop bet is meh after he calls pre, he isn't calling you light preflop.

Only part of the hand I really like is the turn tbh.

When I 3bet PF I honestly thought my cards were sooted.

My reasoning was: I know I'm ahead of his PFR range with ~ QQ+ and AK. I really don't want to 3bet TT-JJ and AJ-AQ because against his PFR-call/4bet range they dont play that well. So to protect my "nuts" I need to be raising some other hands. Suited connecteors work fine because I know where I stand like 95% of the time.

Does that make sense?

Well, I'd like preflop a lot better if your cards were suited.

Your reasoning is good, although I'd a) rather 3bet guys that raise more than 9% of their hands and b) rather 3bet a CO opener than UTG / UTG+1.

So usually with 89s I'd just call in this particular situation, although I def do 3bet w/ suited connectors some percentage of the time.

Villain is 29/17/4 over 800 hands. Has serious FPS against all the regs. Slowplays aces on wet boards, randomly folds to 3bets and cbets, has no positional awarness. Often bets if villain shows weakness. In this spot high PPs are not in his range.

Seat 1: rossit ( $34.41 )
Seat 3: vipekI ( $100 )
Seat 5: YestemZiebeasta ( $164 )
Seat 6: Firetribe ( $107.05 )
Seat 8: overownage ( $98.50 )
Seat 10: BigFold78 ( $35.95 )
Firetribe posts Small Blind $0.50
overownage posts Big Blind $1

I don't really think hand balancing is neccesary at NL50 against nits. He likely isn't folding his strongish hands anyways since he barely gets to play any hands. If he raises with jacks and you 3 bet with KK, he probably isn't going anywhere regardless of whether or not he's even noticed you 3 bet light. If you're really concerend about your image you can always just 3 bet light against the tags and hope he notices and assumes you're doing the same against him.
