I am now doing my computer science master thesis and I am a professional programmer. Among other subjects, my field is AI. Programming skills are very easy to learn, but at the moment it's impossible to implement the AI needed to crush 200NL.

When I chose my thesis subject, I had the idea to do some poker AI research and maybe write a bot. I did some real thorough searching and came to the conclusion how hard and flat out impossible it is for 1 person to write a decent NL Hold'em bot. I chose another subject for my thesis.

There is also no computer that can compute the optimal action accurately within reasonable time, because the branching factor is enourmous. There are too many variables to practically implement game theory in a poker bot.

Limit bots are a different thing. The branching factor is a lot smaller there, so writing a semi-decent limit bot can be done.

Also, won the biggest pot of my life today when chasing losses at NL200. I normally play 100NL.
I sat at a table with the biggest 94/28/0.8 fish/luckbox. This time, I got lucky. Note his stacksize.

I think someone in the zoo may have found the bot programmer. Note his user name on full tilt.

Why? - I would bet 3-streets here with the intention of getting paid off by a worse ace.

imo: if bb is a big enough fish to call a raise and reraise with 25/33/55 ...he also always calling with a9/at/aj/aq and wold play the same on the flop. i think hes more likely to call the 3bet with aj/aq than 33/55...so i value push the turn.

even against good players i think they probably got QQ+,AK when they flat call that 3bet preflop. A push on the turn with AK might look like a bluff and get looked up by QQ/KK out of frustration. and if they call with AK you are freerolling obviously.. i wouldn't be too worried about AA since there is only one combination of that left since you have AK.

against a known fish though i push for value expecting him to call with Ax.

I value bet the turn here always with $80 or so to make sure the pot is huge when you hit your flush. If he 3bets you with 74, too bad, but checking behind is missing value imo.

A turn push is a massive overbet (effective stacks of 150bb) which is probably not the best considering you likely have the best hand and the best draw. Generally, if you can put an opponent on a hand like AQ, or KK it is better to make normal sized bet on the turn to set up a river push where they are getting good odds on a call (i.e. the can't lay down AQ even though they could if you overbet-push the turn).
