LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring (GAME THREAD)

NIGHT!

People from all the lands of Middle Earth arrive for the Council held at Rivendell. Among those attending are Boromir, from the great and ancient city of Minas Tirith, Legolas of the Elves, and Gimli the Dwarf. Legolas and Gimli quickly become fast friends, though neither would probably admit it to anyone, including himself.

Legolas and Gimli are now masons



The group learns about the history of the One Ring, and that the only way to destroy both it and Sauron permanently is to cast it into the fires of Mount Doom, where it was forged. Unfortunately, that's a very long way away, in the middle of the enemy lands. They also learn that one of Aragorn's fellow rangers, Clown "The Villager" Table was slain by orcs in the forest just outside the borders of the Elven lands.

Nevertheless, it is decided that Frodo will undertake this necessary quest, and Sam, Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and Boromir will journey together with him as the Fellowship of the Ring, to ease his way.

They will depart immediately, to try and cross the nearby mountain range before the snows set in.

It is NIGHT 3.

Night actions due by 9am.

The party moves rapidly yet cautiously toward the high pass in the mountain range. However, they don't make it before the first heavy snows arrive, and the pass through the mountain Carabas is blocked.

The Fellowship turns to the only other way through the mountains before spring - the mines of Moria, which have an exit on the far side of the range.



After solving a slightly clever riddle with far too much effort, Gandalf opens a secret door that gains them entrance to the mines. To everyone's horror, an ancient guardian awakens in the murky lake beside the door.



A tenticle thrashes out of the water, grabs Gandalf, also known as "Mithrandir" and "traz", and rips him in two, about two days before the group probably needs him for something important.



It is DAY 4.
