Re: **** OFFICIAL Premiership 2006-07 season Thread!*****
Bends,
reading through your post, the NFL comment stood out. I agree to an extent, but I think a comparison to the NBA is more exact. 16 teams make the playoffs in the NBA, and you could easily argue that 3-4 aren't good enough to be there, another 6-8 will compete, but aren't good enough to win, and then the remaining 3-4 teams are the elite, and realisticly have the best chance to win it. The remaining 14 teams that don't make the playoffs are generally in the class below those that did (Unless you are currently talking about West/East conference, but this is an abiration of late). So basically those 14 teams are the Championship, and then you could start talking about college ball being League 1/2. I don't think the same can be said in the NFL. Most of the teams in the NFL are good, and with so few games, and with home field being such a huge advantage, its a tough league to win in. I mean one of the best teams in the league this year, Chicago, lost to Miami on the road. |

RJ, just get FSC, and then watch the other games on your computer. Saves you dough, plus FSC is the best. Seems like FSC and Setanta share some shows as well.

[ QUOTE ] Some players dont manage it and slope off back to europe and become good again, the best learn and adapt and become a huge success. [/ QUOTE ] I think this is a little too pro-English. It's not really a matter of being "good enough" to play in England, it's mostly a style issue. Small players that dribble alot will tend not do well in England since the play is rougher than in, say, Spain, and there is less one-on-one play in England(defenders are allowed to plough in and jostle the attacker so there is more pass and go play). Don't get me wrong - I love the EPL. But some players suffer not because they aren't good enough, but rather because the application of the rules in England runs counter to their style of play. [/ QUOTE ] Not pro english as evinced by the horde of English players that have gone onto great things in Seria A and Le Liga. Shevy to come of the Bench and score the fastest ever hat trick in the history of the EPL tonight in injury time. Chelsea 4-Bolton 1. |

I am going to call a draw in the bolton/chel$ki games
ManU should roll over Everton 3-0 Liverpool will win as well, 2-1 Arsenal-Fulham will either be 2-0, or 2-1 Arsenal that Villa score looks right. RJ, he probably did lose a bet earlier in the year. I know he is a huge Pool fan. |

I would like us to do 2.4-0 again in honour of our first EPL title won at Bolton . |
