That comment just shocked me. You're a reasonable person. You can't possibly believe you have a real voice in modern government. Government is good in theory, not in practice.

This comment just shocked me. You're a reasonable person. You can't possibly believe you have a real chance of overthrowing modern government. Government being overthrown is possible in theory, impossible in practice.

Fair play?

[/ QUOTE ]

No, that was beyond reason. I didn't say that overthrowing government was the plan. I said people that kneel at the altar of government and praise it are insane.

This is truly astonishing. Reading all your BS about how we should keep everything private, welfare is terrible, fairness is inconceivable, government programs are socialist, blah blah ME ME ME blah blah I have a job with good benefits EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD TOO blah blah blah blah.
And then I see that YOU ARE IN THE GOVERNMENT???!!??!! If you think the government is so terrible, and THE GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE SYSTEM THAT YOU ENJOY is so terrible, THEN GET THE [censored] OUT OF THE GOVERNMENT!!! Isn't there a famous quote that says something to the effect of: to know something is right, and not do it, is the highest level of cowardice? You "know" the government is wrong, well, do the RIGHT THING according to you and GET OUT!

[/ QUOTE ]

If you think this ones bad, consider that borodog is a government employee!

1. Republicans love government, as long as it's used to funnel money to corporations and wars instead of helping people.

No, it doesn't run inefficiently under anyone. Efficiency isn't even the point. Fairness is. Anything without a profit motive is going to be less efficient than something with a profit motive but that doesn't make it necessarily worse.

[/ QUOTE ]

The point is, is that the government does the complete opposite of what they tell you they are doing. They say they want to help the poor, but all they do is help the politically connected corporations. Under the insurance monopoly of the American government the price has gone way up which creates more poverty.

[/ QUOTE ]

No, no, no. It's only the REPUBLICANS who do the opposite of what they say they are going to do. Democrats are the most principled and empathetic people in our country. They only want to help the sick and the poor and punish the evil capitalists who only want to exploit those poor defenseless individuals. We have all been duped, but the gig is up! One outer is here to show us how big of idiots we are for thinking that lots of goverment is a bad thing.

The government is your friend, they have only our best interests in mind. Here, drink this free government koolaid and you will understand everything.

Wow you say you oppose concentration camps and yet you're IN a concentration camp. OMG I can't believe how hypocritical you are. JUST LEAVE THE CONCENTRATION CAMP if you don't like it. God.

Unfortunately the state has corrupted education so far that the choices for a physics professor are hugely hugely limited. Opposing state roads and driving on state roads doesn't make you a hypocrite if there is no private alternative. Whereas saying violence is wrong and then actively supporting violence is hypocritical.

I'm pretty sure there was a Reagan in the White House from 1981-1989. The VP doesn't live there.

But your point is an extension of the fact that 2008 will probably be the first election since 1972 in which the GOP ticket did not contain a Bush or a Dole.

No sh*t, Sherlock. It's a mandarin system. There is a government class that steers the beast that is government.

That's why some of us want to either get rid of government all together, or at least choke off its funds enough to render it functionally impotent.
