Got a message from my kind staker the other day:

"hey mate

how much is your roll currently? you must think i'm mental but i might be up for a staking arrangement again. i possibly am mental but have had a sick sick few days.

regards"

Update: out of guilt, I've now repaid the guy $150 of what he staked me, and will send him the other $100 tomorrow (since I've reached today's Neteller limit). He lent me money on two later occassions, and I repaid that too.
