That was the almighty Joba? I was expecting more. If he ever throws that pitch to Ortiz again it's likely going 500 feet. Yes he throws extremely hard, but it looks pretty straight. Slider is nasty, but wasn't consistent. Striking out Hinske and Drew means nada. Very good, but I was expecting him to look like K-Rod or something.

you obv dont know much about pitching

Joba is an ugly dude, I'll give him that. I like my relievers that way. Papelbon is a little too pretty. He makes up for it by being completely retarded though.

I live baseball. From all the hype, I was expecting him to look like K-Rod when he burst onto the scene. Fastball was gas but it was straight and he left it over the plate too often. Slider was nasty but inconsistent. Left it up a couple times. He's very good and promising, but he's not there yet, sorry.

delcarmen has thrown a couple of great curveballs since kay said he can't really throw his curveball for strikes. he looks good.

Mariano vs 7-8-9 with a two run lead is not an ideal situation. Good game Yanks.

Oh christ, Kielty out now too with back problem

i was wondering why they bothered to bring him in to play 1 inning in the field when they probably would have pinch hit for him anyway vs. a righty.... [censored]

yeah he's not there yet - only 17 Ks in 10 innings. Call me when he does something.

lot of results orientation on this thread from the yankees fans - i see the same people who criticize joe for using his bullpen too much are now calling for pettitte to come out. hmm, clemens pitching tomorrow - might that have something to with it? just maybe? now he has vizciano capable of throwing 2 innings tomorrow if he needs it.
